On 16th March 2024 India recorded more than 700 Covid-19 cases for the first time in more than four months. The current number of active cases has reached to 4,623, as highlighted in the data updated by the Union Health Ministry of India.  On 12th of November 2022 the country had reported 734 cases as reported by media sources. Sensex, Nifty Sensex and nifty recorded losses for 5 days straight on Wednesday. For the first time in 5 months, Nifty closed below the 17,000 mark. The NSE fell by 71.15 points, 0.4%, to close at 16,972.15. BSE’s Sensex decreased by 344.29 points, or 0.6%, and closed at approximately 57,555.90. WPI inflation comes down to 3.85% in February  - Asiana Times

New Delhi: The Wholesale Price Index (WPI) declined to 3.85 per cent for the month of February as per the press notice released by The Ministry of Commerce and Industry on Tuesday. As per government data released by The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation on Monday, retail inflation rate around the country has dipped marginally to 6.44 per cent in the month of February. The main reason for the dip is the slight easing in prices of food and fuel items. The Consumer Price Index (CPI) based inflation was about 6.52 per cent in the month of January while 6.07 per cent in February 2022.
