London: Blaming higher than usual levels of staff absence due to Covid, EasyJet has cancelled around 100 flights on Monday, including 62 from the UK. “To make some cancellations in advance” the airline said it had tried to offset the problem by using standby crew. On Saturday petrol and diesel prices have hiked again by 80 paise a litre each, taking the total increase in rates in less than two weeks to Rs 8 per litre. Since the ending of a four-and-half-month long hiatus in rate revision on March 22, this is the 10th increase in prices.
