BRICS is a group of important economies: Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa. It was first called “BRIC” in 2001 by a person named Jim O’Neill from Goldman Sachs. He thought these economies would become really strong by 2050. Later, South Africa joined, making it BRICS.
