Navneet Rana, a member of Parliament from Maharashtra, and her MLA husband Ravi Rana has been granted bail in a sedition case filed against them for allegedly “attempting to instigate communal violence by reciting Hanuman Chalisa in front of Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray’s residence.”  Bail was granted on the condition that each bond is for Rs 50,000 and that one or more sureties be for the same amount. The Union government has informed the Supreme Court that it intends to re-examine and reassess Section 124A of the Indian Penal Code, which deals with sedition and seditionary activities. Indian court lifts block on $725 million of Xiaomi

xiaomi : Officials from India’s federal enforcement agency said on Friday that their decision to collect $725 million from local bank accounts of Chinese technology company Xiaomi Corp for alleged breaches of foreign currency regulations had been put on hold by an Indian court.
