Bangladesh won the first one-day international in Centurion by 38 runs. This was the first time Bangladesh had ever won on South African soil. The tourists had never won a One-Day International in 19 previous attempts.
In the first ODI of the tour, they put on a great show to break new ground in the format. Bangladesh is now at the top of the list of teams in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League. This puts them ahead of England and India. At the time, (50), Shakib Al Hasan (77), and Yasir Ali (77) were all present. It was the same for everyone. That helped Bangladesh win.
Having a good start led to 314/7. They helped South Africa get back on their feet in the first few overs. Half-centuries from David Miller (79) and Rassie van der Dussen (86) gave the home team some hope. But Mehidy Hasan Miraz took care of business with a four-for, taking the wicket of Miller.
Mahmudullah caught Keshav Maharaj in front of the wicket while the team won by 38 runs in the match. Mahmudullah did this for Bangladesh, and there were celebrations both on the field and in the stands. Having to bat first, Bangladesh had a hard time getting going. Getting to 50 runs took a long time for Tamim Iqbal and Liton Das, and their 50-run partnership didn’t come until the 16th over. Most of the time, South African bowlers kept both batters quiet.
However, both of them hit some great shots across the boundary from time to time. Andile Phehlukwayo caught Tamim in front of first slip to break a 95-run opening stand. Liton hit a six and two fours in the 19th over. It didn’t take long for Liton, who reached 50 in the next over, to be beaten by Maharaj, who then smashed his stumps. He also didn’t last long and left for a nine-ball 12, which isn’t very long. In the 29th over, Bangladesh was at 124/3 and needed someone to help them keep their innings going.
Shakib Al Hasan and Yasir Ali did a great job of rebuilding. After Shakib saw off the first overs, he started speeding up. In the 38th over, Shakib hit a six over long-off to reach 50 and keep going. Yasir was holding down the other end. Stand: 115 was broken in the 42nd over when Shakib was caught LBW by Lungi Ngidi for 77 runs (64).
Kagiso Rabada caught and bowled Yasir in the next over. Yasir scored 50 runs in that over (44). When Bangladesh came back, Mahmudullah (25), Afif Hossain (17), and Mehidy Hasan (19*) made important cameos. They helped Bangladesh reach 314/7. South Africa lost three wickets during the power play. Janneman Malan and Aiden Markram both scored cheap runs, and Kyle Verreynne was bowled out for 21 runs.

It was Mehidy Hasan Miraz’s job to get rid of Andile Phehl on the other side of the room. During their reply, they lost three wickets. In this game, Janneman Malan and Aiden Markram both scored cheap runs, and Kyle Verreynne was caught and bowled out for 21 runs, so it was very close. This is how many runs they made. She caught the captain, and the team lost. It took Uwayo only two overs to hit Marco Janssen and Kagiso Rabada with his off-spin. He did a good job. And the 24-year-old took the wicket that Bangladesh really wanted to make sure they won the game.
He threw one up to get the better of Miller, who was caught for 79 off 57 balls. There were only seven more deliveries and 38 runs to go when Keshav Maharaj was the last wicket to fall, putting Bangladesh in the lead and giving them a well-deserved victory.
