Ben Stokes is coming to Chennai ahead of the 1st clash of IPL 2024 Chennai Super Kings vs Gujarat Titans
Chennai Super Kings’s All-Rounder Ben Stokes is going to arrive soon in India, ahead of the first clash of the World’s biggest cricket league, Indian Premier League 2024 Chennai Super Kings vs Gujarat Titans. The southpaw will be going to join the other team members and begin his training with the MS Dhoni-led CSK. The England All-Rounder Skipper was brought for a whopping 16.25 crores in the IPL mini auction held in 2022. He will be playing a key role with the bat and ball for the CSK and will also be a part of the planning and strategizing team.
CSK splattered a gigantic amount to acquire Stokes, because of his love for the former Indian Captain MS Dhoni and it’s being said that he might be is a successor to him. The CSK team and management would be keeping a close eye on the all-rounder throughout the tournament.
Stokes missed the last year’s IPL due to a finger injury, and this year he would make a comeback in the yellow jersey as a southpaw. He already has an impressive IPL career wherein he has played 43 matches and made 920 runs and taken 28 wickets in total.
The all-rounder too seems to be excited about coming to Chennai and joining the MS Dhoni-led team. The player has always admired Dhoni and has expressed his desire to play under the legendary player several times. Stokes was a part of CSK previously too but wasn’t there in the picture clearly. Now that this is a homecoming season for the England Skipper he would want to don the yellow jersey and do the whistlepodu all together on the ground with all the yellow love he can get.
Dhoni Fever in IPL 2024
The opening match of the 2024 IPL will be played between the two most popular teams Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans. Dhoni-led CSK vs Hardik’s Titans. Dhoni’s comeback on the field is celebrated as a sold-out show in Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium with an estimated audience of 100,000.
People are estimating that this year’s IPL season would be MS Dhoni’s farewell season but nothing is concrete as of now. The largest cricket stadium is all set to welcome the IPL 2024 and the former Indian Captain in style with a sold-out match. Although the match is being played at the home ground of the defending champions, the noise is the loudest for the legendary former Indian Captain Dhoni.
This is the first time that the Titans would be playing at their home ground starting this season. Although the side did play their IPL 2022 final at the Narendra Modi Stadium, the upcoming match is considered to be the first home game for the Gujarat Titans in history.
Last season for the CSK was a massive fail with their poor performance and they finished 9th in the Points Tally. The auctions turned out to be the most exciting ones for the team as they grabbed some of the powerful players in their squad.
