Israeli defense minister Benny Gantz is on a visit to India today, as India and Israel completed 30 years of diplomatic relations this year. Â Benny Gantz met with his counterpart Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.

In these defense ministers’ bilateral talks, A wide range of issues related to bilateral, regional, and defense industrial cooperation were discussed and both the Ministers reviewed the existing military cooperation which has increased despite the challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
They also discussed ways to grow cooperation on Research & Development in advanced technologies in all sectors and defense co-production, the Indian defense ministry noted.
However, the meeting outcome is that both the Ministers reiterated their commitment to work together on all domains, a vision document on security cooperation was signed, and both sides adopted a Letter of Intent.
On enhancing the cooperation of future technologies, the meeting also marked a Joint declaration which was signed by the Defence Ministers from both countries to celebrate 30 years of diplomatic relations.
Israeli defense ministry Benny Gantz during the bilateral discussion said that “India and Israel share similar and common challenges, including border security and fighting terrorism.
By working together, we may increase our capabilities and ensure the security and economic interests of both countries.
Therefore, After the bilateral meeting, Israel’s statement reads that the Ministers declared their intention to further develop defense cooperation between the countries in a manner that harnesses Israel’s technological advance and operational experience, together with India’s extraordinary development and production capabilities.
The statement further emphasizes that Cooperation between the countries would be in line with Prime Minister Modi’s “Make in India” vision.
Before the bilateral meeting, earlier today Israeli defense minister Benny Gantz met with Prime Minister Modi and visited the national war memorial. He was also honored with the ceremonial guard of honor.
The Israel defense minister this India visit was also in the state of being canceled, as the coalition government of Israel would bring a new bill to the Knesset but Israel’s defense minister.
Was unable to present in the Knesset due to the India visit and he didn’t find any opposition member to abstain from voting in order to make a fair fight during voting on the bill as Israeli rules suggested. Although, the visit had also been postponed earlier this year when Israeli defense minister Benny Gantz was infected with Covid-19.
