On Thursday, US President Joe Biden told the press that US Government would discuss the crisis after Russia attacked Ukraine with India.Â
On Thursday, Russia launched a full-fledged attack on its neighbor, Ukraine, in the early morning.
Russian President Vladimir Putin, in a televised address, said that Russia launched a full-scale military operation because of the threats emanating from Ukraine.
He warned the rest of the countries not to interfere in Russia’s military operation in Ukraine.
If they interfere, they will suffer the “consequences they have never seen.”
While responding to a question of whether India is entirely on board with the United States against Russian aggression, Biden replied, “We are going to have consultations with India (on the Ukrainian crisis).
We haven’t resolved that fully.”
US President told reporters this at 11:00 PM IST during a White House news conference on the Ukrainian crisis.
According to some reports, the US Government has reached out to their Indian counterparts to seek full support from India on the Russian-Ukraine crisis.
The Joe Biden administration has talked to their Indian counterparts at different levels ranging from the White House, State Departments to US’s National Security Council.
A senior White House official has informed the reporters that they will deflect questions on India’s stand on the Ukrainian crisis in United Nations Security Council.
As per reports, US officials are not satisfied with the response of their Indian Counterparts.
PM Narendra Modi has maintained his independence in making the strategy.
Moreover, India’s and US’s stand cannot be the same against Russia on its military operation in Ukraine. The US has been the biggest enemy of Russia since the USSR days.
Since its independence, Russia has helped India. There are long diplomatic relations between India and Russia.
India’s relations with the USA have also flourished for the last few decades.
The US and Russia are poles apart, and India is one of the few countries with an excellent strategic relationship with the capitalist USA and communist Russia.
Therefore, India must take the stand very carefully, keeping its diplomatic ties with both countries in mind.
On Thursday, Indian PM Narendra Modi has talked with Russian President Vladimir Putin in which he requested him to stop the operation in Ukraine.
He repeated India’s stand on the crisis that the only way to resolve the conflict between Russia and NATO countries is to debate and discuss.
According to the readout issued by the Ministry of External Affairs of India, the prime minister immediately appealed to cease Ukraine’s violence. He asked all the leaders to have a dialogue for diplomatic negotiations.
In the televised address, Putin has clarified that Russia has no plans to occupy the land of Ukraine. “At the request of the head of the Donbas Republic, we decided to launch a military operation to protect the people who have been suffering from abuse and genocide by the Kyiv regime for eight years,” said Russian President.
According to the Russian Defence Ministry reports, Russian troops were destroying only military infrastructure using special precision weapons.
The United States and European countries like Germany have sanctioned Russia, for its aggression, economically to prevent it from accessing markets in the west.
