BCCI has announced 15 member squad for the upcoming ICC Men T20 World Cup 2022, scheduled to be held in Australia, and for the home bilateral series against Australia and South Africa. India lead pacers in T20 format Jasprit Bumrah, and Harshal Patel make come back to the squad, after recovering from injuries.
Meanwhile, India star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja missed out due to injury. BCCI continued the Asian Cup squad with a few changes for the home bilateral T20 series against Australia, South Africa, and T20 World Cup. India’s team squad for T20 World Cup looks much stronger than the recently concluded Asia Cup. All Cricket teams can make changes to their squads till October 9.Â
Power packed line up
The expected batting lineup for the T20 World Cup is Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant, and Dinesh Karthik and allrounders Deepak Honda and Hardik Pandya will follow up the order.
Veteran pacer Mohammed Shami, pacer Deepak Chahar, wrist spinner Ravi Bishnoi, and Batsman Shreyas Iyer are selected as standby players for T20 World Cup. In the specialist spinners category, Ravichandran Ashwin, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Axar Patel, who has to fill the shoes of Ravindra Jadeja.Â
The Last T20 World Cup squad is no different from this squad, Deepak Honda and Arshdeep Singh are new entrants, and youngsters Ishan Kishan, Rahul Chahar, and Varun Chakravarthy failed to find a spot in 15 member squad.
Much-needed match practiceÂ
The three-match home bilateral series against Oz will take place from September 20 to September 25. In another bilateral home series follow-up against Proteas, they will play three T20Is and an equal number of ODIs starting from September 28 and concluding on October 11.
Pacers Arshdeep Singh, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and star all-rounder Hardik Pandya will be reporting to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) Bangalore for conditioning-related work during the course of the home -bilateral series against Australia and South Africa.
