The Jeep Meridian 7-seater SUV has been unveiled in India for the first time. To put it simply, the new Jeep Meridian 7-seater is the same vehicle, but with a few upgrades. After the Compass Trail Hawk, Jeep India’s second 2022 introduction will be the Grand Cherokee.
Delivery of this Toyota Fortuner MG Gloster competitor will begin in June 2022, with pre-orders opening in May. The Jeep Meridian is marketed as the Jeep Commander in the United States, Canada, and the rest of the world.
With that said, the India-spec SUV is getting a few modest updates, including all-LED headlamp assemblies with integrated LED DRL lights and new alloy wheels. The Jeep Meridian’s specifications haven’t been published yet, but the Commander has a length of 4,769 mm, a width of 1,859 mm, and a height of 1,682 mm.
If we’re talking about the engine itself, it’ll be the same 2.0-litre, four-cylinder MultiJet diesel in the Compass that powers this vehicle. Meridian, on the other hand, is likely to have a different tuning. Both FWD and AWD drivetrains will be available, as well as a 6-speed manual and a 9-speed automatic.
When it comes to acceleration, Jeep boasts that the Meridian can go from 0 to 100 kilometres per hour in only 10.8 seconds. The Jeep Meridian will provide the same level of standard features as the Compass. All models will come standard with six airbags, one of more than 60 possible options.
360-degree parking cameras, parking sensors, tyre pressure monitoring systems (TPMS), and more will be included as well. Also, according to the manufacturer, this SUV will be the roomiest on the market.
The MG Gloster and Skoda Kodiaq are just a few of the vehicles the new Jeep Meridian will face up against when it goes on sale.
