After four years, Amir Khan is having a comeback with his much-anticipated film LAAL SINGH CHADDHA, which is a remake of Hollywood Oscar winner Forrest Gump. Recently netizens have been calling for a ban on the film after his controversial statement made not today but back, “growing intolerance in the country” has resurfaced, due to which #BoycottLaalSinghChadha is trending on Twitter.
Khan recently reacted to the boycotting trend in the press conference held on Tuesday. The actor said, “Agar maine kisi ka dil dukhaaya hai kisi cheez se toh mujhe us baat ka dukh hai, main kisi ka dil nahi dukhaana chahta hun. Jin jinko film nahi dekhni hai, main us baat ki izzat karunga, aur kya keh sakte hain (If I have hurt someone’s heart with something, I feel sad for that, I don’t want to hurt anyone. Those who don’t wish to see the film, I will respect their decision. What else can I say).” “I feel sad that some of the people who are saying this, in their heart, believe that I am someone who doesn’t like India. In their hearts, they believe, but it is untrue. It is rather unfortunate that some people feel that way. That’s not the case. Please don’t boycott my film. Please watch my film.”
Even some of the statements passed by Kareena Kapoor in the past have been surfed online.
Aamir Khan’s wife Kiran Rao also made headlines in the past by saying that she consider leaving India for the safety of their children. During the promotions of Laal Singh Chadha, Aamir also said that he is very nervous about the film and hasn’t slept in 48 hours.
But not only Aamir’s upcoming film but Akshay Kumar’s Raksha Bandhan is also becoming a target of the boycotting trend. To which Akki says, “boycotting movies doesn’t make any sense”.
