Amritsar Police Superintendent Deepak Hillori confirmed a total of five casualties and among them, BSF Jawan who had opened was also included. 
According to authorities, a Border Security Force (BSF) jawan opened fire inside the force’s headquarters in Khasa, Punjab’s Amritsar district, on Sunday morning, killing four of his coworkers before pulling the rifle on himself.Â
The police Superintendent had also confirmed that there were five casualties at the scene of the crime and that another BSF personnel had suffered some fatal injuries in the incident and that he currently undergoing medical treatment at a private hospital in Amritsar.
Border Security Force is yet to give a statement on the matter but sources reveal that the BSF jawan who had opened fire was upset with his duty hours. Â
The incident occurred at around 10:15 and the casualties were declared at around 11:00 A.M. According to BSF reports, constable Setteppa SK of the ‘B’ Coy 144 Battalion fired his duty weapon at his colleagues in the Khasa headquarters’ GF and ORS barracks.
According to a source, he also shot on the car of Satish Mishra, the 144 Battalion’s officiating commandant.Â
Further updates regarding the health of the injured officer are still awaited.
