Yellowstone Season 5 has taken a slow turn. In fact, this season is moving so slowly that it is being split into two parts, with the second half premiering this summer. There were a few lingering questions for the audience that Season 5’s second half should address.
Will the second half of season five feature a time jump?
After seeing Ryan (Ian Bohen), Teeter (Jennifer Landon), Walker (Ryan Bingham), Jake (Jake Ream), and ranch manager Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser) board a truck and depart for Texas at the conclusion of the most recent episode, this one was on our minds.
Following a terrible brucellosis epidemic among the Yellowstone herd, as viewers are aware, these “Yellowstone” characters have been dispatched on a form of secondment to the 6666 ranches, a genuine property owned by the series’ co-creator Taylor Sheridan.
Rip hinted that they would be gone for a year while breaking the news to his wife Beth (Kelly Reilly), which, if the writers decide without a time leap, would leave the Paramount show without some of its most amusing characters.
But because of the time jump, viewers won’t witness how John Dutton’s (Kevin Costner) impeachment trial turns out, making it difficult to choose which option is better.
What game is Sarah Atwood playing with the Duttons and what’s her real name?
The large, villain-shaped hole left by Garrett Randall’s (Will Patton) death in season four was immediately filled by Sarah Atwood (Dawn Olivieri) when she first appeared in the second episode of season five.
Over the course of her time in Montana thus far, Sarah has demonstrated her ability to coerce Jamie easily (Wes Bentley) into doing whatever she wants, whether that be engaging in an unusual tryst in the Deerfield Club locker rooms or delivering a speech to the assembly demanding his father be removed from office.
Remember that in the fourth episode of the current season, Beth did some background research on Sarah and discovered that she has no digital trail. There were many Sarah Atwoods, but none resembled the new Market Equities counselor.
Beth deduces that she must be posing as someone else, but why? Is she doing this to avoid Jamie’s wrath if or when he discovers she has been using him? Is it a result of her hidden family who lives elsewhere? Does she truly support Market Equities, or does she harbor another grudge against the Duttons?
Sarah’s true identity and objectives must be revealed in the upcoming episodes, and we will stay watching.
How will Beth react if she finds out that Rip killed Rowdy all those years before?
When he told John (Josh Lucas), he was given the idea of the Train Station, which John describes as the “trash can for everyone who’s ever assaulted us,” and he was urged never to bring it up again.
Given that Beth is somehow utterly ignorant of the existence of the Train Station and its purpose, viewers learned in the midseason finale it is possible that she is also uninformed of what happened to Rowdy all those years ago. We can’t help but wonder what she’ll do if she manages to get her hands on the names of everyone who has been abandoned at the train station and discovers that Rowdy is one of them.
What will happen to John’s men killing the wolves on Yellowstone land?
In episode one, Ryan (Ian Bohen) exclaimed that the wolves also have a presence on Facebook after learning that they had shot the pair, anticipating the commotion that their deaths would cause.
Could the Duttons’ demise be unintentionally brought on by the dead wolves? It’s feasible because, in contrast to actual life, the wolves in “Yellowstone” are legally protected, meaning anyone who bothers with them will go to jail.
Even if John might not have caused their deaths, he did assist in their cover-up, and this, together with his impeachment, may make him a target of public criticism.
It will undoubtedly impact his relationship with Summer Higgins (Piper Perabo), who has shown she will put animal welfare above her own.
These burning questions will only be answered after the mid-season break, but fan theories are all over the place.
