Premier League Club Chelsea is in discussions with the manager, Thomas Tuchel, to extend his contract. He took over from Frank Lampard in January 2021. Originally an 18-month contract, it was extended following the club’s Champions League triumph until 2024.

Thomas Tuchel is the driving force at the club and is intensely involved in the transfer strategies. He is looking to strengthen the team’s defense and attack in the window. He has signed Marc Cucurella, and Raheem Sterling, among others. After guiding the club to CL success last year, fans love Tuchel. It thus makes sense to extend the contract now before it runs out in 2 years.
“There are talks, but I think given the situation where we come from, and where we are in the middle of the transfer period, I think it is best if I focus on my team and on sports and on being competitive,” Tuchel said.
Thomas Tuchel’s record at Chelsea
Tuchel has been in charge of the team in 94 matches till now. He has guided the team to victory in 60 of those matches while losing just 15 and drawing 19. The excellent records speak for themselves about how good his reign has been at Stamford Bridge. A new long-term contract will formalize the commitment he has to the club.
Chelsea will travel to Leeds on Sunday and despite being given a red card in the match against Tottenham he will be present on the touchline. The one-match touchline ban is temporarily suspended. The ban was given following his final whistle brawl with Spurs manager Antonio Conte in a 2-2 draw in London.
“I think the thing would have ended if there were not 20 people around us that made the thing look much worse than it actually was,” he said.
Thomas Tuchel will look forward to uplifting his team following the messy performance against the Spurs and extending his contract with the club. Chelsea has been aggressive since Tuchel took over, and the club will hope to continue the relationship.
