The carrom and chess championship was inaugurated in the women’s college in Kashmir. Nasreen Aman praised the sports department for proactively organizing regular events for the students. Chess and carrom are one of those games that boost memory and cognition of the players.
Inter-college carrom and chess championship were organized by the Government Women’s College. The competitions were integrated on the MA Road campus on Wednesday. In the event, 24 colleges teams from various parts of Kashmir province were participating.

Dr. Yasmeen Ashai graced the occasion as the chief guest and inaugurated the ceremony. The Nodal principal, Dr. Khurshid Ahmad Khan, and various other professors were also present for the occasion.
Dr. Ashai, Director of colleges, praised the initiative in her address to the audience. She emphasized the importance of sports for the holistic development of the students. Chess and carrom are one of those games that boost memory and cognition of the players. They sharpen the mind to make better focus and more accurate future predictions.
Professor Nasreen Aman also praised the sports department for proactively organizing regular events for the students. She also referred to the rich legacy the college has in winning state and national-level sports competitions.
