In the press release dated October 25, 2022, by the Press Information Bureau, it is stated that the Department of Agriculture and Farmer Welfare has initiated a cleanliness drive in 263 sites at all subordinate/attached offices, autonomous bodies and all field units in all states, including the north-eastern States of India.
Activities Planned for the Cleanliness Campaign
During this unique campaign, various activities are planned, the cleaning up exercises in the office premises, removal of scrap, disposal of all old and redundant files, clearing of weeds and undergrowth in the outfields, and planting of trees and plants within the office premises.Â
In this campaign, all the field units in the farthest parts of the country have participated with great enthusiasm. The local people are also involved in the campaign to spread the message of cleanliness throughout the country. Multiple cleanliness campaigns have already been launched with the target of awareness.
During this campaign, the Directorate of Sugarcane Development Lucknow also visited the Primary School, Bakshi ka Talab Block, Bhikhapur, Lucknow, and the importance of cleanliness, such as brushing teeth, washing hands, wearing neat and clean clothes, etc., was shared with students.
National Horticulture Board, Gurgaon has generated revenue of Rs. 49500/- by disposing of scrap material and also freed & created an additional workable area of 3883 Sq ft. A total of 11602 sq ft. of space is created and an amount of Rs.96650 has been collected by sales of scraps, as stated by the PIB website.
