Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will be launching “School Chalo Abhiyan” on Monday to improve the basic education system of the state.
An official release of the Uttar Pradesh state government stated that the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will launch “School Chalo Abhiyaan” on Monday, April 4 to ensure 100 percent enrolment in the primary and upper primary schools of the state.
According to the release, the mission will start from the lowest literacy rate district in Uttar Pradesh which is Shravasti. It will then continue to Bahraich, Balrampur, Badaun and Rampur, the districts with low literacy rates followed by Shravasti. CM Yogi has also directed the officials to prioritise districts with low literacy rates.
The release further mentioned the School Chalo Abhiyan is an effort made by the state government for the betterment of the future of primary education and holistic development of primary schools.
Features of the mission
According to the official release, CM Yogi has asked the officials to ensure that the primary schools in the state should be provided with better facilities. The objective of “Operation Kayakalp” is to give schools a better appearance. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister has said that the schools run by the state government should tick all the boxes of Operation Kayakalp’s goals.
Adityanath also said that the basic education department have been ordered to get ready for the upcoming abhiyan (mission) and employ teachers in all the state government run schools.
He said that departmental officials are directed to organize a campaign to collaborate with alumni of the state-run schools. The officials will also collaborate with private firms to transform the government schools.
As per the release, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister has also said that apart from public representatives, the MLAs will also be associated with “School Chalo Abhiyan”. The MLAs must take responsibilities of a school each. Furthermore, the officials are expected to take a school each to oversee the school’s holistic development.
CM Adityanath has also asked to ensure that all government schools can provide basic facilities like drinking water, washrooms, appropriate furniture and smart classes to the students. Students under the campaign will also get school uniforms, school shoes and socks.
