The Portugal sensation Cristiano Ronaldo on Tuesday scored a record-breaking header, his first of the season leading Al Nassr to their powerful victory against Monastir a Tunisian Club.
Ronaldo, the person with many impeccable records has no signs of slowing down as he added another record to his list for the player with the most headers surpassing German footballer Gerd Miller who had 144 goals scored with his head.
Cristiano, one of the greatest players of all time has broken more records than any footballer who is currently active.
The Portugal striker added one more to his list as he scored for the 22nd straight season adding to the scoresheet.
The five-time Ballon d’Or and the team were struggling for form this pre-season in Japan but they managed to bring the momentum back ahead of Arab Club Champions Cup 2024.
Al Nassr mid-fielder Anderson Talisca opened the contest by scoring a goal just a few minutes before concluding the first half.
Unfortunately, Al Nassr conceded an own goal (OG) by A. Alawjami in the 66th minute which equalized the game 1-1.
Ronaldo added a second goal for his team during the 74th minute of the game, followed by Abdulelah Al-Amri and Abdulaziz Saud scoring goals in the last two minutes before the end of the regulation.
Cristiano scored 14 goals in 19 appearances with the Saudi Club last season but their dreams of winning the cup crashed as they took an exit in the semi-finals.
The Arab Championship is a trophy which the 38-year-old has his eyes on and is eager to become the regional champion.
The group toppers will end their group-stage games against Zamalek before heading towards the new season of the Saudi Pro League.
The Club failed to secure victory in their last five games and faced losses against Celta Vigo and Benfica.
However, Al- Nassr has strengthened its mid-fielding section with the addition of Seko Fofana and Marcelo Brozovic to their Club. The Saudi Club lineup looks strong ahead of their new season at the Pro League.
While talking to Lisbon Sports newspaper on his return to Europe he stated that returning to Europe is not a possibility for him looking at his age he told that he is almost 39 years old and it’s not worth returning to Europe.
The Portugal star also believes that Saudi League is much better than the USA where Argentina star Lionel Messi made his debut at Inter Miami last week, he also said that the Spanish leagues have lost their quality and the only good thing left in Europe is Premier League.
