New Delhi: RSS Abhiyan was underway since 2020 and SMJ also joined the cause it was an attempt to promote jobs, entrepreneurship, and rising income by encouraging locals and rural economies. Referring to the statistics about poverty and inequality.
Swadeshi Jagran Manch (SJM) and RSS: The Abhiyan
RSS started its Abhiyan or attempt to make a change in our country by tackling basic but rooted problems like Poverty, Discrimination, and Unemployment in 2021.
RSS and SJM have been trying to pursue the government to enhance production and reduce the number of imports to give a fillip to local trade and manufacturing and to also work on economic policies for those below the poverty line and unemployed citizens.
SJM or commonly known as Swadeshi Jagran Manch is also taking small agriculture, marketing, and skill-developing initiatives in rural areas.
And Now RSS Gen Sec Dattatreya raises alerts on the issues and Sunday said, “Skill training is mostly done in urban areas only and due to that many rural locals are talented but due to lack of the skill training can’t fully make use of the skills and end up below Poverty line or worse Unemployed.”
RSS referred that over 20 Cr. people are still below the poverty line in the country and that there is still a need for some new policies on All-India and local level as well to help overcome these challenges like poverty, Discrimination, and unemployment.
Our country has worked hard since independence to be on a level or higher than it once was and those efforts are recognized worldwide because of the efforts, India has become the Sixth largest growing economy in the world.
RSS also made a statement, “No one should be considered small or big. Every job whether it’s a white-collar or hard-working job, there should be an equal amount of respect for both, as Don’t we need hard-working people anymore……. We need to change the mindset first to change the problems itself.”

RSS General Secretariat Dattatreya while speaking at a Sangh Affiliated webinar by Swadeshi Jagran Manch (SJM) said, “That almost around 20 crore people are still below the poverty line and that is very painful statics. Looking to set another data but there were more than 23 crore people who earn less than ₹375 per day.”
He also later added, “The condition has still improved a lot in the past decade or two as at that time about 22% of these same people were unemployed and struggling to live and now it is down to 18%.”
The Abhiyan was started by RSS last year due to concerns over discrimination and Unemployment of half the youth in India. Dattatreya suggested that by reviving cottage industries and initiating skill set development in various sectors in rural areas will largely help our motive.
RSS leader said, “Besides unemployment and Poverty are problems our country needs to face head-on. According to a labor force survey, there are more than 4 crore people in our country urban and rural combined and the unemployment rate is around 7.6%.”
He further added, “We don’t only need national but local schemes to generate more employment in India. We helped countries in need such as Sri Lanka which recently faced many issues in the past few years. We need to be more self-reliant and encourage our own countries’ resources.”
RSS during the protest also stated that though our country is in the top six economies around the world, still half of our country’s population only earns 13% of the Total income set by the government, and only 1 percent of India’s population has around 50% of the Total income and rest are unemployed or below average.
