One death due to covid reported in the capital city of Delhi, and another 34 cases were reported, people had similar symptoms of influenza, therefore refrained from coming for tests, now when tests for influenza surfaced negative, they were declared positive for covid.
Delhi Health Department has witnessed a rise in the number of new cases of Covid in the capital city. Amidst the rise, it records one death and another fresh 83 covid cases, the positivity rate stands at 5.83%. Further, there has been a sharp increase in H3N2 influenza cases in the country recently.
Thirty-four new covid cases were recorded on Monday, with a positivity rate of 6.98%, whereas 72 cases at 3.95%, as reported on Sunday. There was a drop in the number of new cases to zero on January 16 after the beginning of the pandemic ravaged countries around the globe.
Until March 9, the regular count of the cases stood in single digits only, and there was a slight rise from March 10.

Now the data stands at the new tally, which reports 20,08,087 cases of Covid-19 and the number of deaths stands at 26,524. There were 1423 tests conducted on the day before today. With 17 of 7984 beds being occupied by the cases of Covid 19, and about 179 patients are in home isolation.
There are 209 active cases in the national capital territory, as reported by the data. On Friday, Saurabh Bharadwaj, Health Minister, said that Influenza cases are not many there in the hospitals of Delhi, and in addition to that, there is a close monitoring of the cases.
The rise in cases is because of the Influenza A subtype H3N2 virus, as said by The Indian Council of Medical Research. More hospitalisations are being witnessed due to the H3N2 virus than the other subtypes. Runny nose, persistent cough and fever are some of the symptoms that include it.
In Maharashtra, 280 new coronavirus cases were recorded and one death was reported due to the infection, which increased to 81,40 145 and the death toll rate to 1,48, 429 as the official data from the state health reported.
A double rise witnessed in covid 19 cases since Monday.
There has been a double rise since Monday when the data stood at 128 new cases. With 7843 swab samples tested in the last 24 hours and the test conducting data, they stood across the state at 8,65,57,062.
Pune circle has recorded the highest number of infections in the latest cases, followed by 133 infections, followed by 101 from Mumbai, Nashik reporting 14, Kolhapur reporting 10, Nagpur reporting nine, Alok standing at seven cases and Aurangabad with six. Latur circle is the only casualty being reported so far.
Experts note that similar symptoms with Influenza H3N2 behind the upsurge in the cases.
Sixty-one new cases are being reported in Mumbai that raised the number of infections to 11,54,999, with 19,747 fatalities. The recovery rate stood at 79,90,227 after the data showed that 154 patients had recovered from infection within the last 24 hours.
The state has 1489 cases at this point, and of the highest number, 466 patients were from the district of Pune, which follows 321 from Mumbai and Thane districts with 265 cases.
The state’s recovery rate is 98.16 per cent, and the fatality rate stood at 1.82 % as stated. Experts note that the surge of sudden levels is because of the similar symptoms in both as with, the H3N2 Influenza. They come to get tested for H3N2, and when they are found to be negative, they are likely to be found positive for the Covid- positive. Before this, when symptoms continued, nobody preferred to go for the tests, as confirmed at Lok Nayak Hospital.
