A minor girl aged ten (10) has reportedly been sexually assaulted by a thirty-eight (38) year-old e-rickshaw driver in another episode in a residential area in West Delhi, India namely Vikaspuri. This heinous news broke off when a senior police officer from the Vikaspuri police station received a Police Control Room (PCR) call regarding the said crime.
It was later reported that the girl was put under medical surveillance.

In light of such spine-chilling instances, it is of utmost importance to recall the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Enacted by the Government of India in 2012, the Act is serving as a paramount tool to protect the rights and well-being of children in the country.
As it was deemed appropriate, a case as mentioned earlier under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the POCSO Act has positively been registered and investigating teams have hurriedly been formed. According to sources, the accused was identified with the help of CCTV cameras and was later arrested.
