On Tuesday, Railway Minister Ashwani Vaishnaw flagged off the Garvi Gujarat Yatra Train, which will introduce travelers to the rich heritage of Gujarat and has been flagged off under the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat Scheme. Indian Railways conducts tours via its tourist trains running across the country, and the Garvi Gujarat tourist train is a new addition to it.The Bharat Gaurav Deluxe AC Train has been utilized for this Garvi Gujarat tour. The train departed from Safdarjung station in Delhi for the 8-day-long expedition. The tour will end on March 7, 2024, at the Delhi Safdarjung railway station. The train will be covering a distance of around 3,500 km.

The Garvi Gujarat Deluxe AC Tourist Train has a modern, state-of-the-art AC fleet. It has some useful and remarkable features, like a personal shower cubicle in coaches, two fine dining restaurants, a modern kitchen car, sensor-based washroom functions, and a foot massager for tourists. The train also consists of a mini library, along with security guards, an electronic locker, clean toilets, and enhanced security features like CCTV cameras.Â
Garvi Gujarat train has four first AC coaches, two second AC coaches, two rail restaurants and one pantry car. It can accommodate 156 tourists. It will be covering various tourist attractions of the state and showcase its heritage. Passengers can catch and deboard the train from Rewari, Gurugram, Ringas, Phulera and Ajmer stations.
Garvi Gujarat Train Tour – Price
Passengers opting for the tour will have to pay Rs 52,250 for a seat in AC Tier 2 and Rs 77,400 for a seat in AC Tier 1. They can book their tickets from the Bharat Gaurav train section on the IRCTC website. The ticket will include the train journey along with vegetarian meals, travel insurance, a tour guide, night stays at air-conditioned hotels, and sightseeing as well.

The train will take passengers to some prominent monuments, pilgrimage, and world heritage sites of Gujarat such as – Ahmedabad, Modhera, Patan, Vadodara, Somnath and Dwarka
- Ahmedabad – Sabarmati Ashram, Adalaj stepwell, Akshardham and Dandi Kutir
- Modhera – Sun Temple
- Patan – Rani Ki Vav (UNESCO site)
- Vadodara –Champaner Archaeological park (UNESCO site), Statue of unity
- Somnath- Somnath beach, BhalkaTirth, Somnath Temple
- Dwarka – Dwarkadhish temple, Beyt Dwarka and Nageshwar Jyotirling
So far, 17 Bharat Gaurav circuits have been introduced in the country with the launch of the ‘Garvi Gujarat’ yatra. The government is likely to set up 10 more Bharat Gaurav circuits in the upcoming months. The other circuits include Shakti Peeth Special, Mahashivaratri Special—Kashi Yatra, Puri Gangasagar Tour, Shri Ram Janki Yatra, Coimbatore-Kumbakonam—Coimbatore, Karnataka. Bharat Gaurav Kashi Darshan, Sampoorna Yatra, Shri Jagannath Yatra, Shirdi Sai Mandir Yatra, Shri Ramayan Yatra, Divya Kashi–Adi Amavasya Yatra, Onam Holiday Special, Mahalaya Amavasya Special, Frontier Holiday Special, 05 Jyotirlinga Yatra, and Erode–EErnakulam–EErode circuit
