DGCA ordered an investigation on recent incidents that happened with SpiceJet aircraft and asked for a written explanation.
DGCA “Directorate General of Civil Aviation” has issued a show cause notice to SpiceJet and wants a written explanation behind every technical malfunction that happened mid-air.
On Tuesday, a China-bound SpiceJet cargo plane returned back to Kolkata due to some fault in the weather radar.

The SpiceJet freighter aircraft of Boeing 737 was scheduled to operate from Kolkata to Chongquing, but it came back to Kolkata due to unserviceable weather radar which was found out as soon as its take-off, according to the spokesperson. The pilot-in-command decided to return to Kolkata and landed the plane safely.
A tweet from union minister of civil aviation Jyotiraditya Scindia, “Passenger safety is paramount. Even the smallest error hindering safety will be thoroughly investigated & course-corrected,”
In the last few weeks, there are several malfunctions happened in SpiceJet aircraft. More than one incident also took place in a single day which forced pilots to make emergency landings.
On Tuesday, a Delhi-Dubai flight which landed in Karachi due to a malfunction in the fuel indicator meanwhile Kandla-Mumbai flight did a priority landing in Mumbai after a crack got observed in the windshield mid-air.
Amid a string of problems occurring with the SpiceJet aircraft, The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has ordered an investigation of every incident that occurred in the last few weeks. And asked the airline to give a written explanation for each incident.

Lost of the recent eight mid-air snags happened on SpiceJet aircraft:
May 4: B737 MAX aircraft with a flight from Chennai to Durgapur turned back because one of its engines had to be shut down in the middle of the air due to an oil filter warning.
May 28: Mumbai-Gorakhpur flight returned back to base because the windshield of the aircraft got cracked.
June 19: Delhi-Jabalpur Bombardier Q400 Dash 8 plane returned to its origin after a problem with cabin pressure which couldn’t build up as the plane went to a higher altitude.
June 19: Patna-Delhi flight Boeing 737 Aircraft caught fire after a bird hit the aircraft. It made an emergency landing.
July 2: Jabalpur-bound Bombardier Q400 Dash 8 plane returned to Delhi after smoke was observed in a cabin at around 5,000 feet.
July 5: SpiceJet Bombardier SG3324 flight from Kandla to Mumbai did priority landing after its windshield cracked at the height of 23,000 feet.
July 5: A Boeing 737 MAX aircraft scheduled for the Delhi-Dubai route diverted to Karachi after the fuel indicator started causing trouble.
July 5: A cargo plane Boeing 737 scheduled for the Kolkata-Chongquing flight returned back to Kolkata because of a malfunction of the weather radar.
