Jammu and Kashmir’s Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbagh Singh has issued a firm and uncompromising statement that sends a crystal-clear and unambiguous warning to terrorists operating from across the border. His severe warning, which he gave during the sidelines of a recent event in Kishtwar, underscores that these people would not be let to live in peace, even outside of India’s borders.
The DGP said, “To the terrorists who from across the border are attempting to revive terrorism here, we want to send a strong message that they cannot live in peace there because we will find them, and those who are helping them from here will be dealt with harshly.” The DGP said while speaking to media on the sidelines of an event in Kishtwar.
Chenab Valley:
He said that although the Chenab Valley, which includes the districts of Kishtwar, Doda, and Ramban, has historically been a target for terrorists, the security agencies are attentive and would not permit them to establish a foothold.
Jahangir Saroori, Hizbul Mujahideen Terrorist:
Singh was also questioned over the recent busting of Jehangir Saroori’s hideout in Kishtwar’s higher elevations, the Hizbul Mujahideen’s longest-surviving terrorist.
He and a few of his cronies are now being neutralized through action. Saroori has reached the stage in his life where he is nearing death. He will soon be in his grave, Singh remarked.
In a well-strategized operation on Tuesday in the Paribag area of  Bhadat Saroor, the police, together with troops of the Rashtriya Rifles and the Central Reserve Police Force, demolished Saroori’s cave hideout, according to PTI.
Saroori joined militancy in the early years of the 1990s. He is believed to be hidden in the higher altitudes of the Kishtwar area. On August 3, his brother Abdul Karim Butt was taken into custody under the strict Public Safety Act on grounds of having ties to terrorism.
They (the terrorists operating out of Pakistan) attempted to plant the seeds of terrorism in Rajouri and Poonch. The police chief Singh said that “strong action is being taken to destroy this seed” and noted that several infiltration attempts had been thwarted this year.
Singh said that the terrorists planned to enter through Rajouri into adjacent Reasi and then go to Kashmir or straight into Kashmir from Rajouri, but all of these efforts have been foiled, PTI reported.
Singh continued, “.”In Jammu and Kashmir, the sacrifices of the police’s fallen heroes have led to a rise in peace and stability”.
It is pertinent to mention that DGP Dilbagh Singh is the first police chief in Jammu and Kashmir to have brought terrorist activity to an all-time low.
