The Chairman and Managing Director of VPS Healthcare Group, Dr. Shamsheer Vayalil, announced that if Kerala wins the final against West Bengal in the Santosh Trophy, the team will be rewarded with Dh4,80,000.
He is also the son-in-law of the Chairman and Managing Director of Lulu Group International, M.A. Yusuff Ali. Furthermore, he also rewarded the hockey player, P.R. Sreejesh, an Olympian who won a bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021. He was rewarded with 1 cr for his achievement in the Olympics.
Dh 4,80,000 announcement by Dr. Shamsheer Vayalil
Dr. Shamsheer Vayalil tweeted, “Team Kerala, all the best for today’s #SanthoshTrophyFinal. Happy to announce a cash prize of Rs. 1 crore if they lift this coveted trophy in Indian football. #ComeOnKerala.”
The final match will be conducted at Manjeri Payyanad Stadium in Malappuram district, Kerala. The teams will kickstart the match at 8:00 pm.

Dr. Shamsheer Vayalil said, “As a fellow Malayali, it’s heartening to watch Kerala playing the final of the Santosh Trophy. The team has displayed fantastic performances throughout their tournament. I hope they will be able to lift one of the most coveted trophies in Indian football.”
He is hoping that Kerala will win in the finals. He, along with other Kerala football fans, is looking forward to Kerala overtaking the Santhosh Trophy for the seventh time. The West Bengal team is stronger than their opponents in the finals of the Santhosh Trophy, 2022. The team was founded in 1893, the team has passed a century and two decades. To be exact, the team is 129 years old. The team is owned by the Indian Football Association.
The West Bengal team has set the highest record in the history of the Santhosh Trophy, by appearing 45 times in the finals. They are also the kings of the Santhosh Trophy championship, as they have decorated the trophy 32 times in total.
Bengal team coach’s words
“The match between Kerala and West Bengal will be exciting, and I hope fans will tune in. Tomorrow’s game will be a competitive contest, and the team that can convert their opportunities will take the Santhosh Trophy home,” said the head coach of the Bengal team, Mr. Ranjan Bhattacharya, in May 1, 2022.
The head coach stated that the match will be extremely competitive because both teams have excellent and brilliant records in the championship. Both teams will strive for a win. He also added that the team that is able to change this opportunity and convert it into a victory will take the trophy home.
Venue of the final match
The Kerala team will be playing on their home grounds. The soccer capital of Kerala, Malappuram, will be hosting the West Bengal team for the finals. The district is known for having an immense football craze, both for watching and playing. It is also called “The Mecca of Football.”
The match will be held at the Manjeri Payyanad Stadium. The fans of both teams are looking forward to overtaking the championship trophy.
