The evolution of iPhone Pricing in India is interesting, and Apple is increasing its attempts to get new customers into its ecosystem, with the iPhone serving as the key component, and is currently optimistic in India.

Evolution of iPhone Pricing
India was not able to receive Apple’s first iPhone which was launched only in limited countries including the USA. But when the company released its second iPhone3 in 2008, it quickly released it in India.
The smartphone had 3G support and the company released it through its collaboration with Airtel in the nation. The cheapest version hosted 8 GB of storage, with overall pricing standing at Rs 31,000.
Later in 2010, the company introduced the iPhone 3GS which cost around Rs 35000 in India alongside a storage capacity of 16 GB.
The company released iPhone 4 in 2011 which cost Rs 34500. Also, there was no large price increase with the launch of the iPhone 4 in India.
On the other hand, the iPhone 4S which was launched in November 2011 cost around Rs 44,500 and it was a 30% rise in cost as compared to its previous model.
iPhone 5 and iPhone 5S
The basic version of the iPhone 5 which was launched in October 2012, cost around Rs 45500 and it had nearly the same pricing as compared to the iPhone 4S. On the other hand, the iPhone, and the iPhone 5S that was launched in October 2013, were priced at Rs 41900, and Rs 53900 respectively.
iPhone 6 and iPhone 6S
Moreover, 2 new iPhones were introduced by the company in October 2014, the iPhone 6, and the iPhone 6 Plus cost around Rs 53,500 and Rs 62,500.
Moreover, the iPhone 6S was the largest ever iPhone manufactured by Apple, and it was the first occasion when Apple launched identical iPhones in two unique sizes to appeal to newer consumers. Also, the smartphone remains in production till 2017.
The consumers also saw the release of the iPhone 6S, and iPhone 6S Plus, with both of them priced higher at Rs 62,000 and Rs 72,000 respectively. Furthermore, the iPhone SE was also launched by the firm in April 2016 at Rs 39,000.
Clearly, the company wanted to target consumers who required compact and cost-effective smartphones.
iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus
Additionally, the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus were released by Apple in 2016, where they increased their minimum memory capacity from 16 GB to 32 GB. The prices of both of these products were nearly similar as compared to their previous models.
On the other hand, the iPhone 8, and iPhone 8 Plus were released in 2017 and had 64 GB of storage and they cost around Rs 64,000 and Rs 73,000 respectively.
iPhone X was the next-generation smartphone that was presented by Apple in November 2017. It hosted a 5.8-inch screen, a face ID technology rather than a touch ID, and was worth Rs 89,900.
iPhone Xr and iPhone Xs
Later in 2018, the firm launched the iPhone Xr, and iPhone Xs, that cost around Rs 76,900, and Rs 99,000 respectively. Moreover, the iPhone Xs Max became the first ever smartphone to cost more than a lakh (Rs109,000) in India.
iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max
The iPhone 11 series became available the year after, with the iPhone 11 being the most economical model at Rs 64,900.
The iPhone 11 Pro and the iPhone 11 Pro Max, which have a retail price of Rs 99,900 and Rs 109,900, respectively, were also announced by Apple for the first time. The second Gen iPhone SE, which featured improved specs and cost Rs 42,500, was also released by Apple in the same year.
iPhone 14 Plus
The firm also introduced four iPhones last year including iPhone 14 Plus but the product line was somewhat distinct. The iPhone 14 mini was replaced by the iPhone 14 Plus with a larger 6.7-inch display, which came in at Rs 89,900, while the normal iPhone 14 was still available for Rs 79,900.
