Hemang Badani (Ex-Indian all-rounder) has urged Mitchell Starc to grow up as Starc has commented on Deepti Sharma during the match.
Deepti Sharma (Indian All-rounder) once ran Dean (England’s batter) out to claim the last wicket of England to clean sweep and registered a 3-0 win in the series against England.
This incident of run out at the non-striker’s end by Deepti became a lot more controversial that one can ever imagine. However, recently, in the third T20I at Manuka Oval, between Australia and England, Mitchell Starc (Australian pacer) warned the England captain and batter, Jos Butler, for staying within the crease.
The stumps’ mic got everything
Mitchell Starc warned Butler who was at the non-striker’s end by saying, “I’m not Deepti, but I won’t do it. That doesn’t mean that you can leave early”. This incident happened in the fifth over of the match. Starc has been caught saying this on the stumps’ mic.
Deepti’s running out Dean at the non-striker’s end caught everyone’s attention and most of the England’s players were infuriated at that, while Indian cricketers were standing with Deepti alongside and supported her by putting their thoughts out on their social media handles.
It can also be said that Mitchell Starc, has willingly mentioned Deepti’s name during the match to keep the things tight and the non-striker run out debate alive. In no time, Starc’s words have gone viral and have been the topic of new controversies. Meanwhile, the former Indian All-rounder, Hemang Badani, backed Deepti against Starc and told him to grow up.
Hemang, in his tweet, to support Deepti, said Starc should grow. Moreover, it is completely one’s own choice or Starc’s choice to warn Butler or not run him out at the non-striker’s end, even when the batter was completely out of the crease. Badani also told Starc not to bring Deepti into this because what she did was completely within the rulebooks of this game. Also added, no one would be ever expecting this from Starc.
Finch’s views on this
Speaking of the match, it recorded some controversies but it could also not bring any result as there were constant rain breaks. Also, the third and final T20I (Twenty 20 International) called off, on Friday.
After the match, Aaron Finch (Australian Cricket Team Captain) in his post match talk with the Press Association spoke about his views on the warning given by his teammate Starc to Butler. Further, also talked on the controversial topic of running out the batter at the non-striker’s end.
Finch said that the batter getting a warning from the bowler before running out if the batter is outside the crease, would be great and fair as well.Â
