UP Election 2022 phase 3: 38.88% voters’ turnout recorded 

Polling for the third phase of the Uttar Pradesh election has begun. 35.88% voters’ turnout has been recorded till 1 pm. in the third phase of the UP-assembly election.  

627 candidates are contesting for 59 seats in 16 districts with 2.15 crore eligible voters. The Samajwadi Party president and the former CM of Uttar Pradesh, Akhilesh Jadav, is contesting in this phase. The SP president is contesting from the kharhal assembly seat for the first time. 

The BJP Union Minister, SP Singh Baghel, is contesting against the former CM from that seat. The SP president commented that SP Singh Baghel is a union minister. He handles the law department. What is the worth of anything he says! 

The former CM also said that the farmers would not forgive the ruling party while casting their votes, and the Samajwadi Party has hit a century in the first two phases and even in the subsequent two phases. 

Asserting his statement, he said that most of the seats going for polls are from Bundelkhand, where there is a maximum number of unemployed youths. During Lockdown, the laborers had to return to the region, had suffered the most. Also, the income of the farmers has not doubled.  

The Mayor from Kanpur, Pramila Pandey, has clicked photos and videos of her inside the polling booth while casting her vote. She shared a photo of the EVM (Electronic Voting Machine) while casting her vote from the Hudson school in Kanpur. 

The mayor later shared the photos and videos on several WhatsApp groups. Following this, an FIR has been lodged against her for the “breach of secrecy of the voting.” 

The Kanpur District Manager said, “An FIR is being lodged against Mrs Pramila Pandey under relevant sections for breach of secrecy of voting at Hudson School polling station.” 

Two brides in Firozabad and Mahoba went to cast their vote before heading towards their husband’s home in their wedding attire. The woman identified as Ms Julie in Firozabad was accompanied by her husband. She posted in front of the camera, flaunting her inked finger. Ms Geeta from Mahoba said she was voting for the first time, and it was her duty to cast a vote. 

The voting symbol of the Samajwadi Party is missing from EVM at booth number 38 in Vidhan Sabha 194 of the Farrukhabad district. 

The matter was tweeted by the Samajwadi Party and asked the election commission and district administrator to probe into the matter and take action. 

The third phase of the election is conducted in Hathras, Firozabad, Kasganj, Etah, Mainpuri, Farrukhabad, Kannauj, Etawah Auraiya, Kanpur Dehat, Kanpur Nagar, Jalaun, Jhansi, Lalitpur, Hamirpur, Mahoba districts. 

The UP election is conducted in seven phases. In the other phases, the election will conduct on the 23rd, the 27th of February, and the 3rd and the 7th of March. 

Votes will be counted on the 10th of March.
