Following Monday’s nonstop heavy rain, areas of Himachal Pradesh, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, and other states in the nation saw flood-like conditions. Due to the heavy rains, schools in various areas of Madhya Pradesh will be closed on Tuesday.
Following reports of flash flooding in Himachal Pradesh’s Solang Nala, two more individuals went missing. Raigad and Pune are anticipated to have significant rainfall, while Yavatmal, Washim, Wardha, Nagpur, Gondia, Gadchiroli, Chandrapur, Buldhana, Bhandara, Amravati, and Akola are expected to experience thunderstorms and lightning.Â
Other regions of the state, such as Mumbai, Jalgaon, Nasik, and Satara, are anticipated to get moderate rainfall. At least two villages in Himachal Pradesh’s Chamba district were hit by cloudbursts on Monday, forcing some residents to evacuate their homes and reportedly killing a 15-year-old boy.
According to a report from news agency PTI, the Chamba district emergency operation center (DEOC) stated that Bhadoga and Kandhwara villages were affected by sudden, heavy rainfall the night between Sunday and Monday.
According to the Himadisaster Management Department, Vijay Kumar, 15, died and two other people were injured in Bhadoga, while agricultural land and a PWD bridge over Shalei Kandhwara nullah were damaged in Kandhwara.
In the meantime, the state’s Mandi area continued to experience torrential rain, which caused cloudburst conditions and a landslide in Seglli. According to Mandi Deputy Commissioner Arindam Chaudhary, “several regions of Mandi received rain overnight; we started receiving reports about roads getting blocked and other related concerns since 1.30 am.”Â
“Last night, Segli in Mandi notified us of a cloudburst problem. When we arrived, a significant landslide had already taken place. PWD is assisting in reopening the road, and the NDRF has coordinated their arrival at the scene ” he added.Â

The mobilization of all other routes will come later after the second priority of clearing all blocked national highways, Chaudhary added.
On Saturday, all schools in the Mandi district will be closed. In a directive issued on Friday night, Chaudhary stated that all public and private educational institutions in the Mandi district, with the exception of colleges and ITIs, must be closed on August 20.Â
He stated that heads of educational institutions will see to it that the order is strictly followed. According to the report, five homes in the nearby Gull village were evacuated owing to an overflow of water, and residents were then relocated to safer locations.
In a related development, IMD Director General Mrutyunjay Mohapatra stated on Sunday that climate change has made it more difficult for forecasting organizations to accurately predict severe events.
To address this issue, the India Meteorological Department is expanding its radar network and modernizing its high-performance computing system.Â

 Following the cloudburst, mud found its way into homes in over a dozen communities, leading the State Disaster Response Force to relocate the impacted citizens to safe areas. According to the government, the impacted villages include Maldevta, Bhutsi, Tauliyakatal, Thatyud, Lavarkha, Ringalgadh, Dhuttu, Ragad Gaon, and Sarkhet.
