In the Bandipora district of Jammu and Kashmir, a policemen official was killed, while four others were injured. It happens when terrorists throw a grenade on them near Nishat park, said the police officials. The spokesperson said that the injured persons were shifted to a hospital, but one of them couldn’t survive.
The Spokesman said that “At about 1700hrs, terrorists hurled a grenade on a joint party of police and BSF in Bandipora, resulting in the martyrdom of one police personnel and injuries to four other police personnel”. Further, he added, the condition of the other injured persons is stable.
One of the police officers was killed in the line of duty and identified as Zubair Ahmad. The Spokesman mentioned that the case had been filed. Soon, the investigation has begun to set up the full circumstances of this terror crime.
The Spokesman clarified that the area had been cordoned off. Further, a search operation was in progress to trace the terrorists.
Political parties and leaders also condemned the attack.
Farooq Abdullah said violence is always unacceptable and will yield nothing except further death.
PDP president Mehbooba Mufti also condemned the attack.
