Narendra Modi, the prime minister of India, thanked Brigitte and Emmanuel Macron, the president of France, for welcoming him to the Elysee Palace. In order to explore enhancing bilateral collaboration, PM Modi also met with the presidents of the French Senate, Gerard Larcher and Elisabeth Borne.
He received the Grand Cross of the Legion of Honour from French President Emmanuel Macron. The highest honor bestowed by the French government or military is this one.
PM Modi will become the first Indian PM to get this honor, according to ANI.
Five degrees make up Napoleon Bonaparte’s Legion of Honour, the highest of which, the Grand Cross, is given to the prime minister. The insignia has a five-armed Maltese asterisk on an orange background, and the ribbon is red.
Foreigners who serve France or preserve its ideals may also obtain this honor. However, membership is generally reserved for French citizens. On average, 300 foreign people receive this honor each year out of the organization’s more than 79,000 members.
PM Modi is visiting France for two days officially.
At the airport, he received a formal welcome. Elisabeth Borne, the French prime minister, met him at the airport.

On April 14, PM Modi will attend the French National Day in Paris alongside French President Emmanuel Macron as the Guest of Honour. The Indian Air Force will fly past Bastille Day, and a group from the three Indian services will participate in the parade. The 25th anniversary of the two countries strategic cooperation falls on the same day as PM Modi’s visit.
PM Modi chatted with the Indian community in Paris before coming for dinner at the Elysee Palace. During their conversation, he emphasized the intricate connections between France and India. He asked members of the diaspora to invest in India while discussing the numerous industries in which India is developing.

He highlighted the advancements India is making in a number of fields and asked those living abroad to look at investment opportunities in India.
PM Modi also met with his French colleague Elisabeth Borne to discuss enhancing bilateral ties and cooperation in a number of areas, including the economy, trade, energy, environment, education, mobility, and public digital infrastructure.
The leaders discussed ways to further boost connections between France and India, as well as reviewing various aspects of their alliance.
