New Delhi:
In national as well as state politics, the momentarily repeated history of the Congress party is repeating itself. Structural and administrative crises can be seen in Congress.
Hence, everyone has a question going through their minds: is Gandhi’s liability or an asset for the party? Let us have a close look at what is actually happening in this political crisis inside Congress.
Nowadays, it can be observed that the emergence of right-wing politics has waned and declined the space for Congress to claim democratic and socialistic protocol. T
here were times when Congress used to sweep national as well as state-level politics in the country during the Nehruvian era, India Gandhi’s times and till Rajiv Gandhi’s tenure, but now that era has long gone.
The Congress party needs to seriously introspect itself in the present or else another major setback is waiting for the Congress in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections as well, after what we have seen in the 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha as well as the current state elections.
Senior leaders are demanding change in the leadership of the Congress party after its recent drubbings in the state elections of Goa, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Manipur and Punjab.
In Uttar Pradesh, it had to face its worst performance ever in state elections and, more importantly, Priyanka Gandhi was leading the campaign for Congress. The answer is quite clear: Gandhi is becoming a liability tothe party.
In fact, if no serious introspection is done on this issue, then the party will have a bleak future ahead and may lose its opposition status to regional players.
The Gandhi lineage is being blamed by most contemporary political commentators and reviewers for the drubbing of Congress.
Though the politics of any country is determined by its masses and not by the political figures of the state, if we introspect carefully, we observe that the masses have perpetually accepted dynastic politics.
And the same can be seen in the case of India, but PM Modi is continuously attacking all dynastic politics, and hence we can see the results in favor of the BJP. Hence, dynastic politics is losing its charm nowadays.
