At its I/O conference in 2021, Google unveiled some exciting new capabilities for mobile search that are sure to be popular. Through a new update, Android users will be able to clear the last 15 minutes of their search history from their device’s memory.
Mishaal Rahman of XDA Developers was the first to notice the new function, which he claimed to have discovered after being alerted to the update’s arrival. The update is currently going out to users.
Users can check their availability by launching the default Google app on their Android smartphones and selecting the profile picture icon located in the upper right corner.
When you click on this, you should be sent to the account settings page, which now includes a new option for removing the last 15 minutes of search history.
Google began giving out this upgrade to iOS devices in July 2021
Though google gave an upgrade, it was unable to meet its original Android delivery schedule because of technical difficulties. The change is expected to be sent out to all users over the course of the next several weeks, and it will be available only on the Google search app’s most basic version.
This can be accessed by sliding up on the device or by tapping the search bar on the home screen of the smartphone.
It is unclear whether the company wants to bring the capability to desktop computers, considering that they did not specify which platforms would be targeted during last year’s I/O event in San Francisco. Google first introduced the feature for iOS in July, and it is now rolling it out to Android devices.
This year, Google will host its annual developer conference on May 11 and 12, which will be broadcast live online for free from its Shoreline Amphitheatre at its Mountain View headquarters.
The event will be aired live in front of an invite-only live-person audience, which is a far cry from the company’s digital event in 2021 and the cancellation of its 2020 performance, both of which took place in Los Angeles.
