When it was revealed that the headmaster of a lower primary school in the Cachar area of Assam, had carried a dao (machete) to the school, he was relieved of his duties.
Dhritimedha Das, a resident of Silchar’s Tarapur neighborhood and a 38-year-old teacher, has worked in the field of teaching for more than 11 years.
The police were obliged to act, only after a video of the identical occurrence became popular on social media. Consequently, they eventually arrested him.
The Radhamadhab Buniyadi School called the Rangirkhari police outpost in Silchar, on Saturday morning to report the event, and a squad hurried there to take control of the situation.
“The head instructor tried to keep a professional approach while hiding the gun. But, when we got into the school, we witnessed fear among the students and other teachers, the cops said.
We temporarily detained him inside the school, gathered the weapon, and requested the education department to take further action, according to the police. “We are still investigating this matter,” police added.
The head teacher was disturbed and disappointed due to the irregularities perpetrated by other teachers, according to Parvez Neehal Hazari, the deputy inspector of schools for the Cachar district.
The principal was thinking something along these lines to reestablish order in the classroom. Hazari said, “the school only has a demand for seven teachers, yet there are a total of thirteen teachers working there.”
Das was allegedly attempting to control the teachers by brandishing the machete, according to the education department.
Das has been temporarily suspended
The evidence gathered indicates that neither the school’s teachers nor the education division made a formal complaint about the occurrence. Das has nevertheless been temporarily suspended.
Das hasn’t commented on this issue till now.
Police got letters from Headteacher
Additionally, according to the authorities, he had some letters in which he accused four school teachers of being responsible for his safety. In addition, he allegedly stated that he wanted to murder three teachers.
