On Saturday, one Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist was gunned down in Kulgam by the security forces during an encounter.
The Kashmir zone police tweeted and confirmed that one terrorist has been killed and their operation is still in progress, further details shall follow.
The encounter was set in during the early hours of Saturday in the Khandipora area. Â
The police and army conducted most of these operations in alliance along with the help of inputs from specific intelligence.
It was reported that the hidden terrorists were the ones who fired upon the security forces first which led to an encounter.
On Monday in the Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir, another Pakistani terrorist of Lashkar-e-Taibe (LeT) was executed by security forces, while three others managed to escape.
The executed was later identified as Hanzal. Similarly, on Tuesday two encounters took place in the Shopian and Kupwara districts of Jammu and Kashmir.Â
As per police records, the killed terrorist was involved in several terror crime cases including attacks on police/security forces, and civilian atrocities, police said.
Incriminating materials, arms, and ammunition including a .303 Rifle along with 23 rounds, a pistol along with 31 rounds, a hand grenade, etc., were recovered from the site of the encounter. All the recovered materials have been taken into case records for further investigation, he said.
Meanwhile, another terrorist was killed in an encounter that broke out in the Pulwama district of south Kashmir later in the day.
The gunfight broke out in the Drabgam area of the district, he said.
One terrorist has been killed, the police said, adding, the operation was on.
