HUL AND GENPACT ACCELERATOR PROGRAM FOR BUSINESSES
Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) and Genpact have jointly launched an accelerator program called Be. Seen to support the growth of businesses owned by minority and under-represented groups in India. The program aims to promote diverse and sustainable sourcing by integrating minority-owned businesses into the supply chains of major consumer goods companies, including HUL. Sattva, a social impact research and advisory firm, is implementing the program.
Be. Seen, implemented by Sattva provides training, mentorship, and access to networks, knowledge, and resources to enterprises owned by under-represented and minority groups, such as women, persons with disabilities, members of scheduled castes or tribes, and transgender communities. HUL aims to spend ₹2,000 crores annually with diverse businesses by 2025, and this program will help achieve that commitment, according to Ansu Archana, Procurement Director, Beauty & Wellbeing, Hindustan Unilever Limited.
The program will feature virtual masterclasses, one-on-one mentoring sessions, and expert-led workshops facilitated by leaders with domain expertise from HUL and Genpact. The sessions will encompass important aspects including finance, supply chain management, sales and marketing, communication, business development, and digital transformation.
The primary objective of “Be. Seen” is to foster growth and preparedness for diverse and underrepresented businesses, allowing them to effectively integrate into supply chains and seize new opportunities. They emphasized that incorporating diversity within supply chains offers a competitive edge for any business and extends its economic and social influence
She stated that the collaboration between HUL and Genpact would aid in assisting minority-owned businesses while also facilitating HUL’s progress towards its goal of annually investing ₹2,000 crores with diverse businesses by 2025.
Be. Seen’s ultimate objective is to foster growth and enhance the readiness of diverse and underrepresented businesses to participate in the supply chain. Hindustan Unilever Limited believes that diversity in supply chains provides a competitive advantage and contributes to broader economic and social impact, according to Archana.
Srikrishna Sridhar Murthy, Co-founder and CEO of Sattva, expressed the belief that collaboration plays a pivotal role in generating substantial impact and driving widespread change.

To be eligible for the program, businesses must be 51% or more owned, managed, or controlled by members of diverse groups and be certified by an approved certification body or self-declared as diverse businesses.
