Later today, the official Instagram page of the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) shared the first glimpse of Abhishek Bachchan’s upcoming movie ‘Ghoomer’. It will be premiered at the IFFM on August 12 at Hoyts, Dockland. The R. Balki film ‘Ghoomer’ stars Abhishek Bachchan, Saiyami Kher, Shabana Azmi and Angad Bedi.
On Wednesday, Actor Abhishek Bachchan shared the poster of ‘Ghoomer’, which was originally uploaded by IFFM, which shows Abhishek in an intense look standing beside his co-actor Saiyami Kher. In the film, Saiyami Kher is seen battling life as she loses her right hand over an unfortunate accident that stopped her career as a cricketer, when she meets her coach, Abhishek Bhachchan, who gives Kher a different motivation to fight her battle to be a successful sportsperson. Mr. Amitabh Bachchan will also be seen in a role as a commentator towards the end part of the film. He was part of all of R. Balki’s movie and that will remain to continue.

Abhishek Bachchan and director R. Balki both are excited about the movie and in a joint statement they said that they are really honoured that their movie ‘Ghoomer’ will be premiered at such a prestigious event i.e. at the opening of the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne(2024). About the movie they stated;” Ghoomer’ is a story of turning adversity into advantage. A story of innovation when faced with extermination. It is a tribute to the sport and the reservoir of human resilience.” They are also excited by the fact that this sports enthusiastic movie is to be premiered at the sports capital of the world, Australia.
Actress Saiyami Kher shared how playing the role of a sportsperson on-screen is her dream that came true with this film. She is also excited and thrilled to have this movie premiered at the opening of IFFM (2024). She also shared that playing a sport on-screen was difficult and challenging- both physically and mentally. For her the movie is not just about a sport but “ a story of triumph in extreme adversity.” She finished her statement by adding that she is really excited for this movie to be first premiered at the land of great Shane Warne and she couldn’t have asked more.
Abhishek Bachchan is currently seen in Ajay Devgn film ‘Bhola’ in a special appearance, which was released on March, 2024. He has a bunch of films lined up for this year. We are excited for ‘Ghoomer’ release this year on August 12 in Auustralia.
