In the opening T20I match of Ind vs Wi, India thrashed the hosts by 68 runs. Chasing 191, West Indies’ batting struggled against the Indian bowling line-up.Â
On Friday, In the opening encounter of Ind vs Wi, the men in blue beat the Caribbeans by 68 runs at Brian Lara Stadium, Tarouba, Trinidad. Batting first, India scored 190 runs with a loss of six- wickets. Team India captain Rohit Sharma gave a solid start and scored 64 of 44 deliveries. While Dinesh Karthik scored 41 off just 19 deliveries, giving India a solid finish. Karthik also won the man of the match award for his quick inning. Â
In response, Caribbeans could not perform up to the expectations, and their innings collapsed at 122 runs in 20 overs. Team India completely outplayed the hosts claiming their victory in the 1st T20I match. Â
India gave an all-round performance in every department. Apart from the contribution of Sharma and Karthik, India’s spin department completely dominated the Windies. Ravi Bishnoi, Ashwin and Jadeja destroyed the batting of the hosts, sharing a wicket tally of 5 wickets. However, Arshadeep Singh also took two wickets and gave only 24 runs with an economy of 6 runs per over. Â
Men in blue have already won the One-day series, and now they will be eyeing the shorter format. Under the leadership of Rohit Sharma, the Indian team has had a smooth run till now. He has lost only two matches till now in the white ball since he became the full-time India captain.  Â
Meanwhile, Dinesh Karthik has made his position formidable for the upcoming T20I world cup. He has been performing well for the team India since after the IPL 2022. RCB batsman had performed exceptionally in the IPL and had come to the notice of selectors. Moreover, Karthik has utilised almost every chance given by BCCI and would be hoping to make a comeback in the blue jersey. He has already said that he wants to make India win the T-20I world cup.Â
