The anti-Muslim comments of the BJP spokesperson have led to an outrage in the Arab world. Three Arab countries namely- Qatar, Kuwait and Iran have some India’s envoy to issue a strong protest condemning the comment of the BJP leaders strongly.
Bhartiya Janata Party has suspended Nupur Sharma and Delhi Media Head Naveen Kumar Jindal due to their derogatory comments about the Prophet Muhammad as mean by Nupur Sharma on a national TV debate.
Qatar was the first country to issue the statement and demanded a strong public apology and immediate condemnation from the Government of India regarding the controversial remarks and also pointed out the anti-Muslim or Islam of phobic remarks that such remarks must entitled with punishment. The country stated that it is the grave danger to the protection of human rights and male lead prejudice and marginalization of violence and hate between the communities.
The assistant foreign minister of Qatar said that, “The Islamophobic discourse has reached dangerous levels in a country long known for its diversity and coexistence. Unless officially and systematically confronted the systematic hate speech targeting Islam in India will be considered a deliberate insert against 2 billion Muslims.”
So how does this issue become such a huge diplomatic concern?
At first, BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma, allegedly commented anti-Muslim remark on National TV debate on Gyanvapi, which invited various protests and backlash. Also, the Delhi BJP media head Naveen Kumar Jindal treated for various controversial remarks due to which there is a huge backlash in the Arab world.
The Super Stores of Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, Bahrain are boycotting Indian products from their shelves. The issue also trended with various hashtags on the social media. The Muslim community and now the Arab countries are protesting against the controversial remarks.
India has strong ties with the Arab world has more than six and a half million Indians live and work in the Gulf countries. Also, in addition cutter is one of the largest suppliers of liquefied natural gas or LNG to India. Also 40% of the India’s gas supply come from Qatar.
During the debate on Gyanvapi, the Muslim Committee is referring the Shivling as a fountain or “Favaaraa”. In aggression, Nupur Sharma in an effort to shut down the comments on the Hindu religion started angerly commenting on the Holy Quran and The Prophet Muhammad. She quoted various statements, that in Quran, it is said that the Earth is flat and in rage convey to the other debaters that she might start mocking the statements quoted in Quran. She also quoted statement that were an insult to the Muslim religious community as she mocked over Prophet Muhammad, the founder of Islam, that he married off a girl of over 6 years and consummated the marriage when she was of 9 years of age.
Nupur Sharma due to her comments faced a deluge of threats. Has been receiving multiple death threats from social media. Even some Islamic members are threatening her for beheading.
The Bhartiya Janata Party has issued a statement on discovering that it respects all the religion and religious personalities. Both the BJP leaders have also claimed that they never had intention to hurt anyone religious and moreover Nupur Sharma has withdrawn her statement through a tweet on her account.
The topic has been fumed by two sides like a two-edged sword. Some people with the Gulf Countries and are demanding their rights and punishments for the controversial remarks and some are creating a public opinion that the Islamic countries need not be act as Guardians of the Indian Muslims.
Also, on social media people posting with the #BoycottQatarAirways as some are stating that the author had given citizenship to MF Hussain who painted nude Hindu Goddesses and now the country is getting upset at alleged blasphemy against Prophet Muhammad in India.
Some people are also supporting Nupur Sharma as they are saying that she has only said what the history is and also to shut down the mockery against the Hindu Religion and the shivling found in the Gyanvapi.
