How different states of India celebrate Independence
According to the announcement, Independence Day celebrations would start in different states after 9 a.m. The national anthem will be played as the chief ministers of the states raise the flag, one of the activities. The home guards, NCC, scouts, state police, and paramilitary groups will present the Guard of Honour. The chief ministers will address the public, followed by the singing of the National Anthem.
What happens on Independence Day?
Every year, the Indian Prime Minister raises the flag and addresses the country at the Red Fort in Delhi. A military parade then follows. The “Address to the Nation” is also given by the President of India. The occasion is marked by twenty-one gunshots.

The security during the ceremony

To counter any threats from unconventional aerial platforms, the Delhi Police has deployed over 400 kite catchers and fliers on rooftops and other sensitive locations in the fort area. Until the tricolor is hoisted, a five-kilometer radius around the Red Fort has been designated as a “no kite flying zone.”
According to police, anti-drone systems from the Defence Research and Development Organization and other security agencies are also being installed.
“We have installed high-resolution security cameras in and around the Red Fort, and their footage is monitored 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The number of invitees has increased to 7,000 this time. According to a senior police officer, FRS cameras have also been installed at the Mughal-era monument’s entrance.
He stated that lunch boxes, water bottles, remote-controlled car keys, cigarette lighters, briefcases, handbags, cameras, binoculars, umbrellas, and similar items will not be permitted on the Red Fort premises.
According to Dependra Pathak, Special Commissioner of Police (Law and Order), Section 144 provisions have already been implemented in Delhi. Anyone caught flying kites, balloons, or Chinese lanterns between August 13 and August 15 until the Red Fort program will be fined.
“Kite catchers with the necessary equipment have been deployed in strategic locations to prevent any kind of kite, balloon, or Chinese lantern from reaching the function area.” Radars will be stationed at Red Fort to counter threats posed by unconventional aerial platforms and manned or unmanned flying objects, “he stated.
On Friday, police discovered over 2,200 live cartridges near the Anand Vihar Inter State Bus Terminal and arrested six people in connection with the discovery.
Police are also conducting extensive searches for improvised explosive devices. They stated that personnel is being briefed on adequate security, training, and deployment plans.
In addition, approximately 1,000 high-definition cameras will be installed in the North, Central, and New Delhi district units to detect aerial objects. According to them, these cameras will also help monitor the VVIP route to the monument.
The Delhi Police has also increased patrols and anti-sabotage measures. Hotels, guests, houses, parking lots, and restaurants are being checked, and tenants and servants are being verified, according to officials.
The police issued an order on July 22 prohibiting the flying of aerial objects such as paragliders, hang gliders, and hot air balloons, which will remain in effect till August 16.
