According to the Ministry of External Affairs, the eighth session of the India and Italy Foreign Office Consultations (FOC) was held on Monday in Rome, where the two sides discussed the whole range of bilateral relations. According to a press release, Reenat Sandhu, Secretary (West), Ministry of External Affairs, led the Indian mission. In contrast, Luca Sabbatucci, Director General for Global Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, led the Italian delegation.
According to the MEA, the two sides addressed India-EU ties and agreed that discussions on India-EU Free Trade and Investment Agreements should begin as soon as possible. India and Italy discussed their collaboration in politics, trade, economics, defence, research and technology, energy, health, consular relations, and culture. The two sides expressed delight with the increased momentum in bilateral ties, which they attributed to regular high-level meetings. They shared commitments on both sides to expand cooperation in various areas.

The two sides reaffirmed their commitment to improving bilateral, regional, and multilateral consultation and cooperation. They agreed to hold the following meetings in New Delhi at a mutually suitable time.
 India maintains an Embassy in Rome and a Consulate-General in Milan. Italy has an embassy in New Delhi and Consulate-Generals in Mumbai and Kolkata.
