NEW DELHI: Barricades outside the British high commission in Delhi were taken down by the local police on Wednesday in what is thought to be a retaliating response to the attack on the Indian high commission in London by pro-Khalistan protesters who were also said to have torn down the Tricolor.
Moreover, the attempt was an unsuccessful attack had been stopped, and the Indian flag is at its correct reportage now as per sources. As reported by the UK Metropolitan Police, two security personnel suffered minor injuries as a result of the event, and a probe has been commenced.
For the protest, the onslaught on Khalistani leader Amritpal Singh, supporters of Khalistan knocked down the Indian flag on top outside the London headquarters. Social media users responded strongly to images showing a guy ripping down the national flag, which outraged the country.
According to the reports, the barricades which had been built up in front of the United Kingdom mission at Shantipath in Chanakyapuri and the house of British High Commissioner Alex Ellis at Rajaji Marg had been taken down.
In a strong statement of protest, the Indian government urged the British government to provide adequate protection at the Indian High Commission. The Indian high commissioner to the United Kingdom had been called on Sunday. According to India’s foreign ministry, an explanation was requested for the utter “lack of security” at the Indian embassy in London.

Sadiq Khan, the mayor of London, criticized the event via his tweet and said that vandalism and the raucous, physical aggression that ensued. This type of behavior has no future in our city.

Following the incident on Sunday, a bigger Indian national flag was raised. One individual was detained for tearing down the tricolor. In many films, a representative of the Indian High Commission is seen removing the tricolor from a crowd of demonstrators who are yelling pro-Khalistani slogans and waving Khalistani flags.
More than 100 of Amritpal Singh’s sympathizers and members of his “Waris Punjab De” gang were held by the Punjab police on Saturday as they started a huge operation to catch him.
Since a few years ago, the separatist leader has been active in Punjab, where he is frequently accompanied by armed supporters. He is referred to as “Bhindranwale 2.0” by his admirers and declares allegiance to the terrorist and Khalistani separatist Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale.
In 2013, after Indian ambassador Devyani Khobragade was detained and subjected to a strip search in New York, barriers outside the US embassy in Delhi were taken down. She was charged with using her maid for personal gain and visa fraud.
In a similar vein, the Delhi Police took down the 12 or so concrete blocks that had been erected to blockade the British High Commission and the envoy’s home on Wednesday.
Earlier in the case, the Indian High Commission in London had been the target of destruction that caused anger. Online images depicted a sizable throng hurling wooden pole-mounted flags of Khalistan at the US embassy building, using them to break glass doors and windows. They climbed through temporary security barriers put up by the municipal police and hoisted pro-Khalistan banners as they put up two Khalistani flags inside the building.Â
The group also spray-painted a request to ‘release Amritpal’ on the exterior wall, however, the flags were quickly taken down by consulate staff. Nonetheless, the act has drawn harsh condemnation from Indian Americans.
