India has won the series by taking the lead of 2-0 against Ireland. Jasprit Bumrah has his maiden series win as T20 Captain.
India has continued to maintain their 100% win record against Ireland in T20s as they clinched the three-match T20 Series in Dublin. An excellent all-round performance from Indian players guided them to win the second match against Ireland on Sunday. It was a great captaincy from Jasprit Bumrah in his first series as a captain.
Indian batters were phenomenal in the match and they did what they couldn’t do in West Indies. Middle-order batters played independently and smashed Ireland’s bowlers to put in a huge total of 185 which was enough to defend against Ireland with a heavy-pace attack India.
Highlights of the second T20 between India and Ireland
It was a pleasant and sunny morning in Dublin unlike the first match and the pitch was a bit dry as compared to the first match. Winning the toss, Ireland Captain Paul Stirling chose to bowl first which wasn’t something to worry about India because Jasprit Bumrah said they wanted to bat first anyway on this pitch and put a good total.
Yashasvi Jaiswal was sent back by Craig Young after scoring 18 runs from 11 balls. He was playing well but fell against a short ball trap once again. On the other hand, Ruturaj Gaikwad showed patience and played an excellent knock and was the highest run scorer of the team. He scored 58 runs off 43 balls.
Every Indian middle-order batter contributed to the team in the second T20 except Tilak Verma who has got out on the single-digit score in both the matches. Sanju Samson finally played a class knock for which he is known. He made 40 off just 26 balls. Here is an interesting fact about Sanju Samson is that His average against Ireland is 59 in three innings whereas he averages just 15 against all rest of the teams in the 18 innings he has played.
Rinku Singh and Shivam Dube made a good partnership and smashed Ireland Bowlers and hit five sixes in the last nine bowls of the innings. While defending the total, Indian pace bowlers Jasprit Bumrah and Prasidh Krishna showed their class on their comeback. They both took two wickets each and were economical as well. Jasprit Bumrah bowled a maiden 20th over which is an incredible feat in T20 Cricket.
Ravi Bishnoi has been excellent as well recently. He has taken two wickets in both matches in the series. None of Ireland’s batters looked stable other than their former captain Andrew Balbirnie who played a fighting knock for Ireland scoring 72 off just 51 balls but fell short by 33 runs to help his team to get over the line.

Rinku Singh was the star of the match. living up to his hitting reputation, Rinku Singh arrived at the International level in style. He finished the innings for India perfectly and posted a huge total of 185. Rinku scored 38 runs off just 21 balls in his maiden International Innings.
Finishing an innings for his team is no new task for Rinku Singh. We have seen him doing miraculous things in IPL. He was the most consistent batter for Kolkata Knight Riders this year. He played a miraculous innings for Kolkata Knight Riders against Gujarat Titans in IPL 2024. He hit five sixes to Yash Dayal in the 20th over to chase the target for Kolkata.
Living up to his six-hitting reputation, Rinku Singh played fearlessly in his maiden international innings and played some beautiful shots in the match. Rinku Singh smashes 23 runs off the last six balls he faced which includes three sixes and 1 four. This shows the ability of Rinku to finish the games for his team. He can play a huge role for team India in the 2024 T20 World Cup in West Indies.
