Indian women players are currently playing in ICC Women’s World Cup 2022. World Cup has witnessed Indian cricketers achieving new milestones in the tournament.
Indian cricketers are performing their best to win the trophy in World Cup 2022. India finished as Runner’s Up against the host England in World Cup 2017. Even then, Indian players had created records for India in the world cricket, and this time is nothing new.
The defeat in the World Cup was sour as India had a remarkable journey last season and lost to England in the finals. And as they embark on the journey, their records are talk of the town.
Starting with captain Mithali Raj, her milestone of all-time captaincy by playing most matches as captain in Women’s World Cup on 12 March 2022. She also surpassed Indian captain Mohammad Azharuddin for India, now played 25 matches and continuing.
Harmanpreet Kaur, vice-captain of Team India holds the record of maximum centuries in Women’s World Cup and so far, has smashed three centuries in 2013, 2017 and 2022 World Cup.
Smriti Mandhana has scored two centuries in two World Cups (2017 & 2022), stands second in the list of Most Centuries after Harman. Mandhana’s scored both the centuries against West Indies.
Smriti Mandhana and Harmanpreet Kaur has set a new record of highest partnership of 184 runs against Windies in Hamilton on 12 March 2022.
Jhulan Goswami achieved a milestone of all-time highest wicket taker in the History of Women’s World Cup as she surpassed Australia’s Lyn Fullstone’s tally of 39 wickets. She also became first women’s cricketer to take 250 wickets in Women’s ODI.
