To confront China, India and Australia have grown closer strategically. Last year, as the Covid-19 pandemic raged worldwide, New Delhi and Canberra boosted their ties to the level of Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
They inked the Mutual Logistics Support Agreement, a defense deal (MLSA). Since then, initiatives have been taken to strengthen these ties.
These include financial aid to students. Forty-five scholarships are offered, similar to the Rhodes and Fulbright awards, for exceptional graduate and undergraduate students.
You will be compensated for your studies and receive a stipend to assist with living expenses: Dan Tehan, Australia’s Minister in Delhi.
In addition, there is a financial investment in fellows. A stipend equivalent to a Rhodes and Fulbright grant will be awarded to 11 fellows, all of whom are high-level doctorate students. Then there’s the cultural exchange program, which aims to increase cultural exchange between Australia and India
