Sandeep Singh Nangal, an international kabaddi player, was shot dead in Punjab by four assailants.
Sandeep Singh Nangal Ambia, who was an international Kabaddi player, was shot dead on Monday, March 14th, 2022 during a Kabaddi tournament in Jalandhar, Punjab.
The 40-year-old was immediately rushed to the nearest hospital. However, after a quick examination, the doctors pronounced him “dead on arrival.”
According to police reports, the incident took place when Sandeep stepped out of the tournament grounds at Malian Khurd village, located in Nakodar, police said.
The police report further stated that the four assailants who opened fire on the player are suspected to have siphoned 8 to 10 bullets into the kabaddi player.
A video of the homicide is currently being broadly streamed via social media.
In the video, certain individuals are seen remaining in the midst of the trees, taking shots at an unnoticed person. The Deputy Superintendent of Police added that 10 bullet shells were retrieved from the crime scene and further investigations are in progress.
Another video that surfaced showed Nangal unconscious on the ground with people trying to get him medical attention.
