According to an IRCTC official, the corporation plans to run a special tourist train for the first time in the country’s Northeast.
Under the project Dekho Apna Desh, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) will establish a special tourist train to explore five Northeastern states.
The 14-night and 15-day trains will transport travelers to destinations distant from the top places untouched, undiscovered, and inexplicable, away from the madding mob.
According to an IRCTC official, the corporation plans to run a special tourist train for the first time in the country’s Northeast.
This tour will begin at Delhi’s Safdarjung railway station. It will stop in Guwahati, Kaziranga, Johnhart in Assam, Itanagar in Arunachal Pradesh, Kohima in Nagaland, Una Koti, Agartala, and Udaipur in Tripura, and Shillong and Cherapunji in Meghalaya, among other places.
Tourists can join the special train at Ghaziabad, Tundla, Kanpur, Lucknow, Varanasi, Patna Railway stations, and Delhi Safdarjung. On 26th November, the train will depart from Delhi’s Safdarjung Station.
North Eastern States: Blessing for Indians
The IRCTC took a great initiative to make the northeastern states recognizable as part of Indian land. Being neglected for years, now they have an identity and opportunities for tourism to explore their state beauty and be officially part of India.
The Northeast, which accounts for 8% of India’s overall area but only 4% of its inhabitants, has rightly remained on the periphery of its collective consciousness.
The North-East Study Group (NESG), established by the MHA, is essentially an advisory group tasked with keeping a continual eye on the Northeastern states’ security situation and recommending appropriate measures for remedial action to the ministry.
While the NESG’s findings are well-known and well-documented, nothing is known about what is being done to break the nexus.
The reason for this may be summed up in a single word: nothing because there isn’t anything being done.
While there is a lot of talk about welfare, there is not a lot of action. The reality differs significantly from what is written.
Even now, the story of the seven sisters hasn’t altered much. Maybe this expansion of tourism would change the scenario of the northeastern states.
With the government’s continual neglect of the Northeastern states, there has been a reduction in employment rates, with essentially no economic development initiatives being undertaken to raise standards and bring them in line with the rest of India.
The majority of India is unaware of these seven sisters’ culture and is completely cut off from the rest of the country.
Apart from dancing styles, the northeastern region of India has remained a mystery to the rest of India, and the divide appears to be growing.
Seven Sisters has a lot of greenery, a lot of cultures, and a lot of therapeutic beauty that isn’t well understood or fostered.
Surprising figures show that none of the seven sibling states are among India’s top ten tourist destinations.
This ignorance is harming the Indian tourism industry and represents a complete waste of this hidden gem. They have enormous potential to increase the revenue that Indian tourism can produce.
Tourist Spot in the Special Train:
According to the official, a visit of the Brahmaputra River and a tour of Assam’s tea gardens are also planned for nature lovers.
History aficionados would enjoy the UnaKoti Sculptures, Ujjayanta Palace, and Neermahal Palace in Tripura.
A Jungle Safari in Assam’s Kaziranga National Park and a track on Meghalaya’s Root Bridge are included in the package to provide maximum enjoyment and adventure.
According to an IRCTC spokesman, passengers on this train would also have the opportunity to visit Kamakhya Temple in Guwahati, Assam, and Tripur Sundari Temple in Tripura.
According to IRCTC, the holiday costs Rs85,495 per person for 2 AC and Rs1,02,430 per person for 1AC.
Employees of the government and public sector which meet the Ministry of Finance’s eligibility conditions can use LTC on this trip.
Passengers in the deluxe class will be treated to scrumptious meals, an air-conditioned bus tour of tourist places, lodgings in deluxe hotels, a guide, and insurance, among other things. Only passengers who have been adequately vaccinated will be allowed to board the train.
