Indian FM Sitharaman said on Sunday that vaccination is the medicine to boost the economy.
On Sunday, the health ministry of Tamil Nadu holds a Mega Vaccination Camp through 40,000 camps across the state to vaccinate around 20 lakh people.
On the centenary celebration of Tamilnadu Mercantile Bank, Sitharaman said while delivering the speech on Sunday that the vaccination programme has been going smoothly, and 73 crore people have already received shots free of cost far.
She added, Today, through vaccination programmes, people were able to do business, traders were able to obtain products to run businesses, or farmers were able to do farming, thus boosting the economy.
So, vaccination is the only medicine to (combat the virus), boost the economy. In India, around 73 crore people accepted vaccination, and the vaccination helps in resuming their trade and businesses that got stuck by the ongoing covid pandemic.
It allows the farmers in starting farming activity without much concern about the virus. She believes that vaccination is the only medicine to combat the economic crises and develop India’s economy.
Concern regarding the third wave
She also expressed her concerns regarding the third wave of COVID-19 and also worries about the lack of hospitals, ICU, and oxygen and announced that for all these concerns, the Ministry declared a scheme letting hospitals rose to develop when the second wave caused the colossal impact.
Sitharaman said hospitals located in rural areas could take up expansion work by availing the schemes announced by the Ministry, including the “viability gap funding” scheme.
Minister also informed banks, including the private sector, that they must embrace digitisation towards confirming that all government schemes reach out to the poor.
