YSR government has invested Rs 4000 crore in the Electronic Manufacturing Cluster that guarantees 20,000 jobs.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy inaugurated multiple units of companies in the Electronic Manufacturing Cluster (EMC) at Vikruthamala village, Tirupati. He also laid the foundation stone for three projects there. The Andhra Pradesh Electronics and IT Agency (APEITA) sighed MOUs with POTPL Electronics.
The latter is a subsidiary of TCL Corporation, Network Technologies, Techbulls, and Smart DV Â Technologies.
Six projects with over Rs 4000 crore investment have come to Andhra. These projects will guarantee 20,000 jobs, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said. Of these, the chief minister inaugurated three companies and laid the foundation stone for another three companies.
He added that the TCL company has invested Rs 1,230 crore to manufacture TV panels and mobile display units and would employ 3200 people.
The CM then inaugurated a Foxlink unit that’s supposed to manufacture USB cables and circuit boards and provide jobs to 1,200 people. Jagan also inaugurated a Sunny Opotech unit.
Sunny Optech is a mobile phone camera lens manufacturer. It has invested Rs 280 crore and will employ 1,200 people.
Jagan Mohan Reddy Lays the Foundation Stones for Three UnitsÂ
Apart from these three units, the Andhra CM also laid the foundations of three more units. One of them, Dixon Technologies manufactures tv sets.
It invested around Rs 110 crore and is expected to employ 850 people. Jagan Mohan Reddy also laid the stone of another unit of Foxlink India Pvt. Ltd. This unit is supposed to employ 1,200 people.
After that, he participated in the ground-breaking ceremony of Hilltop SEZ Footwear India Pvt. Ltd. Hilltop is a supplier of footwear to Adidas and may come with an investment of around Rs 800 crores.
It had already started operations at Tada in the Nellore district in 2006 during YSR Reddy’s regime. The Tada unit now employs 15,000 employees of which 60% are women. Hilltop also wants to set up a unit at PPulivendula.
The company will start operations in March 2024, Jagan Mohan said.
