On Tuesday, in the Sindhara area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district, security forces carried out a joint operation, resulting in the elimination of four terrorists sponsored by Pakistan. At the scene, security forces discovered four AK-47 rifles, two pistols, and a cache of warlike supplies.
Responding to precise intelligence inputs, the confrontation between security forces and terrorists commenced around 11:30 pm on Monday. Subsequently, drones and other night surveillance equipment were deployed in the area.
During the early hours of the morning, the gunfight reignited, witnessing an intense exchange of gunfire between the security forces and the terrorists.
The encounter commenced in close proximity to the area where the troops of an SF unit had recently lost their lives. Security forces first spotted the terrorists on Monday afternoon.
The security forces confined these terrorists to a small area and promptly dispatched additional troops to create a cordon around the location.
The operation involved the participation of the Indian Army’s Special Forces, Rashtriya Rifles, Jammu and Kashmir Police personnel, and other security forces.
According to Indian Army officials, the terrorists eliminated in the operation are believed to be of foreign origin, and efforts are underway to confirm their identities.
Security forces were carrying on with their search operation in the area. The recent encounter followed the foiling of an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch on Monday, where two terrorists were neutralized by the Indian Army and the police.
